On Saturday, January 3, 2026, Mt. Zion’s leaders will gather for a vital time of equipping, alignment, and collaboration.
From 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, our ministry leaders, deacons, and staff will come together for brunch, fellowship, and a professionally led leadership development session designed to help us serve more effectively—together.
This training is mandatory for current officers. Emerging or aspiring Mt. Zion ministry leaders are encouraged to reach out to the church if you want to join us.
As we continue our mission to Fix What’s Broken to Build Back Better, 2026 calls us to a new level of clarity, unity, and shared accountability. God is opening doors, sending people, and expanding our ministry opportunities. To steward this well, our leadership must be aligned and operating with excellence.
This training is designed to help us:
Strengthen collaboration across all ministries
Clarify ministry roles, responsibilities, and expectations
Reduce ambiguity and eliminate avoidable conflict
Improve communication and follow-through
Build a consistent culture of accountability and shared commitment
Strong churches have strong leaders. This session prepares us to lead Mt. Zion forward with confidence and unity.
This leadership training is mandatory for:
All Deacons
All Ministry Heads
Key Staff
Emerging leaders Pastor asks to attend
If you serve in a leadership or decision-making role—or if you desire to grow into one—this morning is for you.
We'll share brunch and fellowship from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM followed by professional leadership training by Dr. Marrix Seymore from 9:00 AM - Noon.
We will welcome Dr. Marrix Seymore, an experienced consultant who has equipped church leadership teams across the country. He will guide Mt. Zion through three mission-critical modules:
1. Biblical Foundations of Shared Governance
A scriptural look at collaborative, Spirit-led leadership.
2. Defining Roles & Boundaries
Clarifying responsibilities for the Pastor, the Deacon Board, and Ministry Heads so that decisions are made with confidence—not confusion.
3. Implementing a 360° Accountability Framework
Practical tools for healthy follow-up, communication, and shared expectations across the entire leadership team.
Throughout 2025, we have confronted areas of brokenness—systems, habits, communication gaps, unclear expectations. The next step in building back better is establishing common standards for how we lead.
This training helps us:
Bring every leader into alignment
Develop shared vocabulary and expectations
Remove barriers that slow down ministry
Build trust and strengthen relationships
Equip leaders to serve, guide, and empower the congregation
This is more than a meeting. It’s a cornerstone moment in our church’s future.
