Scripture: Psalm 103:1–5 (KJV)
We live in a time where it is easy to receive from God—but we forget to respond to Him. We wake up under mercy, walk in His provision, breathe His air—and yet somehow remain silent.
In Psalm 103:1 (KJV), David commands his own soul: “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”
This is not a suggestion. This is not emotional. This is intentional. David is reminding himself—and us—that praise is not optional when you understand what God has done.
Imagine a courtroom where God Himself is the Judge. Not a case of crime—but a case of benefits. A case of unpaid debt.
The charge? Silence.
Receiving from God week after week, year after year—without giving Him the praise He is owed.
The evidence is clear in Psalm 103:2 (KJV): “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”
The first benefit David names is forgiveness:
“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities.”
Not some. Not the manageable ones. Not the ones you’ve already made peace with.
ALL.
God did not just forgive your mistakes—He forgave your choices. The things you planned. The things you hid. The things you thought nobody would ever know.
Before you could get it right, before you could explain it, before you could fix it—He called you first and said, “Come home.”
So the question becomes: how do you stay silent after that?
God didn’t stop at forgiveness.
“Who healeth all thy diseases… who redeemeth thy life from destruction.”
He didn’t just forgive what was wrong—He stepped into what was broken.
He heals. He restores. He redeems.
That situation that should have taken you out—He pulled you out of it.
That pit you couldn’t climb out of—He reached down and lifted you with His own hand.
You are not here by accident. You are here because God rewrote your ending.
God didn’t just rescue you—He honored you.
“Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies… who satisfieth thy mouth with good things.”
He crowned you. He chose you. He called you His own.
This is more than survival. This is blessing. This is overflow. This is a God who does more than the minimum.
And He is still renewing you—even now.
Somewhere along the way, for many of us, praise became routine.
The wonder faded. The passion cooled. What used to move you became familiar.
But today is a call back.
Back to forgiveness. Back to rescue. Back to grace.
And praise Him from that place.
